How to solve 3 of your skin concerns all at once

Recently, I was looking in the mirror and decided the reflection staring back at me was not what I wanted to see. My complexion was beginning to become dull, I was starting to get more little red veins around my nose, I was seeing more wrinkles starting to develop, and of course, living in Sarasota I had my fair share of sun spots. So, as I was looking in the mirror, I decided right then and there all of those nuisances must go! My goal was to get maximum benefit, in the shortest amount of time, with as little downtime as possible. So, I decided to have the ThreeForMe™ treatment. ThreeForMe™ incorporates both Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and nonablative laser technology, a perfect combination to address my concerns.

How Does ThreeForMe™ Work?

The procedure is performed in two steps:

  1. Step one uses Intense Pulse Light to treat discoloration for a more even-looking appearance. This includes sun damage such as brown spots, or age spots. This step also addresses facial veins including broken blood vessels, spider veins and rosacea.
  2. Step two uses “microbeam” nonablative laser technology that will gently renew the skin for a smoother-looking appearance. This technology works by stimulating new collagen and elastin production, the keys to the skin’s support structure. Improving the skin structure results in the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, scars and other surface imperfections.

My Experience During The Procedure:

Prior to the procedure I had numbing cream applied to my entire face for approximately 30 minutes. Once my face was numb, the cream was removed, and goggles were placed over my eyes. Dr. Damery began the first step using the Intense Pulse Light device. Honestly, I did not feel any discomfort during the IPL treatment. Once step one was completed, Dr. Damery immediately moved to step two using the Icon™ non-ablative laser. The non-ablative laser heats the outer layers of the skin but, unlike an ablative laser, does not remove them resulting in little to no downtime. During the treatment I felt very little discomfort, immediately after the procedure my skin was pink and I had the feeling of a little warmth, but with the use of ice the warm feeling quickly dissipated. The entire process, including the numbing took approximately 60 minutes. Prior to leaving the office sunscreen was placed over the treatment area.

My Experience Following the Procedure:

I had the ThreeForMe™ done on a Friday, I was pink, had a small amount of edema, and felt a little warm that evening, so I applied ice which really help bring the feeling of warmth out of my skin.

Saturday the warm sensation completely subsided, however the pinkness was still present. One of the most important things to do following the ThreeForMe™ treatment is to avoid the sun, so to optimize my results I remained in the house.

Sunday the pinkness diminished enough to cover with makeup and sunscreen and I was able to make a jail break for the grocery store. I quickly returned home and removed the makeup, so that my skin could be open to air and continue to breath and heal.

Monday happened to be a holiday so work was not an issue. However, if I needed to go out I could have easily put makeup on and no one would have known my skin was still slightly pink. Once again, I decided to give my skin optimal healing time and remained in the house without makeup. The only thing I noticed was a little bit of flaking starting to form.

Tuesday I was back at work, able to wear makeup and my patients had no idea I had the ThreeForMe™ treatment done on the previous Friday.

During the recovery period I did not experience any itching and I did not feel the need to take any analgesics.

Would I have the treatment done again, absolutely, in fact I plan on having it done every six months. My complexion has noticeable improved, I no longer have red veins around my nose, sun spots have diminished, and wrinkles and texture have improved.

Here is my suggestion, have the treatment on a Friday and lay low for the weekend, that should allow you enough recovery time. This is one of the best treatments I have had to brighten my skin and maximize preventative aging.
